Ein Weihnachtsgedicht

When Schnee is from the Himmel falling
and Jingle bells vom Kirchturm calling
then ist es wieder mal soweit,
then comes the happy Weihnachtszeit.

When Kerzen in the windows brennen
and people durch the Kaufhaus rennen
und holy night klingt everywhere
ist Weihnachten bald coming her.

When Nikolaus sitzt in the garden
or hängt upon on Lichtschlauchfaden,
wenn Weihnachtsmarkt is in the town
dann ist the time zum Tännchen klaun.

The father fährt rasch in the Wald,
und find a Nordmanntanne bald,
but nun the Schwierigkeit begun:
how kann er transportier’n the Tann.

Er killed paar Äste from the tree
haut sich the Axt dabei ins Knie.
The Blut is spritzing on the Erd,
that war the Tannenklau nicht wert.

He cried um Hilfe like a cow
,so dass the Förster hört it now
and suddenly kam auch herbei
zwei Männer from the Polizei.

That was the Strafe on the Fuß.
Sie pushten him in ihren Bus
and brought ihn to the Krankenhaus
so rasend quick wie Santa Claus.

Indess, the Mutter in the kitchen
war happy wie einst the Schneewittchen
and waiting auf the Ehemann
damit the Fest beginnen kann.

Sie baked und cooked in Zwischentime
the Father is bald coming heim
with einem Tännchen what is stolen.
Now she muss Christbaumkugeln holen.

Die children warten in the Flur,
wo bleibt denn our Papa nur?
They looking out aus Hauses door
und in the Radio sings a chor.

The night is wirklich very still
genauso wie es Christmas will.
The Weihnachtsgans im Ofen schmort,
klein Harry in the Nase bohrt.

Dann suddenly the Telefon
is ringing in bekanntem Ton.
Policeman sagte to the Frau:
her Mann comes auch ins kittchen now.

Weil er the Tannenbaum geklaut
the Fried and Freud is falling out.
Und the Moral from this Geschicht:
Klau Christmastannenbäume nicht.
